Can a camera find a water leak?
A camera is useful in some leak investigations, but it does not see through every wall or diagnose every circuit. The method depends on where water may be escaping.

Match the tool to the suspected problem
A drain inspection camera views the inside of an accessible pipe. Thermal imaging shows surface temperature patterns that can assist certain investigations. Neither automatically locates every hidden supply leak or proves the source of a damp patch.
Combine evidence rather than rely on one image
Timing, moisture patterns, circuit type and accessible connections guide the investigation. Pressure checks or other appropriate techniques may be needed. Water can travel before appearing, so the visible stain may not sit directly under the source.
Understand access and reporting
The result should explain what was inspected, the findings and any remaining uncertainty. Limited opening may still be necessary. Ask whether detection, repair and restoration are separate parts of the quotation.
Prepare useful information
