No hot water: boiler fault or tap problem?

One tap or the whole property?

If only one outlet is affected, a mixer, cartridge or aerator may be responsible. If all outlets are affected, investigate production or supply. Compare hot and cold flow and note whether water is cold, lukewarm or alternating in temperature.

Does central heating still work?

On a combi boiler, normal heating with poor hot water can involve the diverter, plate heat exchanger, flow measurement or a sensor. A cylinder or separate heater has a different arrangement. The appliance type must be established before interpreting the symptoms.

Observe without dismantling

Record the display and whether the boiler responds when a hot tap is opened. Check only accessible user controls described in the manual. Do not adjust gas equipment, remove electrical covers or repeatedly reset a tripping protective device.

Prepare the repair request

Provide the model, complete code, affected taps and when the problem began. Mention earlier plumbing work or changes in pressure. ChauffePro can assess hot water systems and explain whether servicing, repair or replacement is appropriate.
