Who carries out the inspection?

The professional must hold the recognition required for the equipment and act performed. A general repair visit or a brand name on a website does not establish that recognition. Check the official register and retain the inspection certificate and any recommendations for corrective work.

What maintenance cannot replace

Cleaning and checking an appliance do not automatically repair a leaking component, faulty sensor or unsafe installation. If a fault prevents a satisfactory inspection, diagnosis and corrective work may be needed. Describe existing symptoms when booking so the professional can explain the appropriate scope.

Keep the installation records

Keep the manual, previous certificates, invoices and intervention reports together. In a rented property or shared building, clarify who arranges the visit and provides access. Consult the current Brussels Environment guidance rather than relying on a universal annual rule.
