Boiler safety valve: discharge and recurring pressure loss
A safety valve protects the circuit from excessive pressure. Water at its outlet may reflect a valve issue or another problem causing pressure to rise.

The valve is a protective component
When its specified pressure is exceeded, the safety valve can discharge water through a suitable outlet. It is not a normal control for reducing pressure repeatedly. A heating valve and a domestic hot water safety group have different applications and must not be confused.
Investigate why it discharged
An expansion vessel problem, filling arrangement or other cause of excessive pressure may trigger discharge. Debris or wear may then prevent the valve sealing properly. Replacing it without investigating the pressure rise can lead to the same result again.
Never block the discharge
Do not cap, obstruct or redirect the outlet in a way that defeats its protective function. Hot water may be released. Record when water appears and the visible pressure, and arrange assessment rather than continually refilling the heating circuit.
Replacement and system checks
The part must have the correct reference and rating for the installation. After repair, the technician checks tightness and pressure behaviour, including the wider expansion and filling conditions where relevant. A dry outlet at one moment is not proof that the underlying issue has disappeared.
Arrange a diagnosis in Anderlecht
Provide the make, exact model, full fault message and when the symptom occurs. Keep the appliance accessible without opening it, and mention previous repairs or leaks. ChauffePro can discuss breakdown diagnosis, repair and servicing. Availability and the proposed work are confirmed for your installation.
